This is a very proud picture for me and Mara. We had been chasing two singles for months, so we planned to enter the Dallas Shetland Sheepdog Club Specialty on November 14, 2009. We knew we would be up against some tough shelties and some more experienced handlers. However, I had  the incentive I needed to go into the ring and be competitive. Guy Mauldin was sitting ringside and  it gave me a sense of pride that I would finish this girl with Guy there to watch. I even posted it on facebook a week earlier that Mara and I were not going to worry about the point; we were going to win it all.  Kismet truly must have been with us that day because Mara took her class, then took Winner's Bitch. But, she wasn't finished winning yet. She went in and took Best of Breed over  3 specials to give her Best In Specialty Show. What a way to finish her championship. A very special thanks goes out to Mrs. Elaine McIntyre for recognizing the quality of Mara.
